Hunter Safety class set
A Hunter Safety education class is set for Sept. 10-11-12 at the Belwood Troop 413 Scout Building.

Completing the class is required to purchase a hunting license for first time buyers in North Carolina. There is no charge for the class, which runs from 6 to 9 p.m. each day, but preregistration is necessary.

Crest-Shelby tickets
Pre-sale tickets for the Shelby-Crest football game to be played at Shelby's Pearley Allen Field on Friday, Sept. 12, are now on sale.

Tickets are at the Shelby High School office, Crest High office, Medical Arts, and Bradley's Stitch and Screen. The ticket price is $5.

City Park signups continue
Registration for players and cheerleaders for pee wee and midget football at Shelby City Park are continuing.

Grades 2-4 cheer for pee wee teams and grades 5-6 cheer for midget squads. Returning cheerleaders will be with the same team as last year. The league director assigns new cheerleaders to teams.

Diamond Club to meet
The Crest Softball Diamond Club has a meeting slated for Monday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bulldog Quik Snak in Boiling Springs.

Anyone interested in supporting Crest Midle or Crest High softball is welcome.
